The Hotel is in a fabulous location in Bourton, and also for exploring the Cotswolds. The room was great for a B&B with a small (but decent) bathroom, very clean and with a great breakfast selection. Would stay there again.
The floor in the hall between rooms is very old and creaky, so if people are returning to their rooms late at night or leaving early in the morning this will disturb you.
Staff very friendly and location perfect for two night stop in Bourton on the water.
Good to have en-suite facilities, but they were very small.
Polite staff and good service, beautiful location, pretty traditional room.
Very pleasant weekend stay - the restaurant was excellent - certainly no need to look elsewhere, Superbly located within the village.
A charming hotel in a delightful location - the best location in all of picturesque Bourton on the Water - and with attentive, helpful staff. Our room (the last available for the dates concerned) was, perhaps, a little small for a double room althougfh the ensuite bathroom was spacious, but this is a character, period building in a peerless Cotswold location and we were very pleased over all and considered ours a very good deal by comparison with what was on offer elsewhere.
The room was clean, the location perfect and the bed was extremly comfortable
I did not like getting a call from David the day before we were travelling to say that the hotel had been overbooked and unfortunately it was our room that had been overbooked. I wondered why ours? When we had booked a month previously and got it at a good rate as we not able to cancel. (Although this obviously did not work both ways) There was no apology just that he had found a alternative hotel for us at no extra cost to ourselves. When checking the laternative hotel was cheaper. My Husband called David back to express our disappointment at which time we were told ok don't worry come here and I will find you a room, still no apology!! We had booked this trip as a Birthday treat and this did spoil the trip a little. The Bathroom and Bedroom were both very small and the whole hotel looked like it needed an update.
With 80€ we have a very good room, best location to the water, lovely bar and excellent breakfast, that's very worth.
When we checked-in during the lunch time, the staff members were very busy and we waited for several minutes, but it was OK, after all it's a very relaxing place with slow pace.
Beautiful building, excellent location. Staff good but breakfast service and menu could have been better. Very happy with our short stay and would recommend to friends.
Good location - friendly staff
Lack of toiletries in the bathroom - no glasses in the room - tacky plastic cups in the bathroom - no water available (which has always been provided on previous stays) - dining room had mismatched chairs lined up against one wall - looked a bit like an old people's home.
Location of hotel was excellent car parking at hotel restricted, we had enjoyable stay, staff were polite cheerful and helpful, the fine sunny weather helped make the stay more pleasurable. Ideal location hotel located on riverside with ample outside seating areas and central location in village itself, ideal base to afford sightseeing around Cotswold villages & area.
The hotel ran out of ice on the one day(hot sunny day) and the chef could not provide hollandaise sauce with meal (eggs benedict breakfast) when it was listed on the menu otherwise no adverse comments to make
The location was fantastic right in the middle of Bourton on the Water. A lovely olde worlde hotel. Food was fabulous.
The room and ensuite was a bit small for the money.
Very conveniently situated, freindly staff, food good value for money, rooms clean situated in a good location.
Poor car parking, left car in the road because no room in the car park. I asked for a cot for my grandson which was not available but we managed.
The Hotel is beautifully situated in the heart of Boughton on the Water. Ideal for touring the Cotswolds, It was lovely to be able to walk round the village in the evenings.
The Hotel is under new management and they are addressing the problems with staff (the service was a little on the slow side) some of the furniture .was in need of repair or replacement But the beds were very comfy
It's location and being in keeping with the area. Good attentive staff, especially reception. Car parking on-site.
Alot of nice pubs to visit near, great shops and location. Nice river to sit outside and have a drink, lovely food, nice room, nice people on reception desk.
